Nowadays it’s possible to be a singer-songwriter and make pro sounding songs from the comfort of your home. All you need is a computer, an audio-interface, speakers and a microphone for vocals. Of course you’ll also need to have the instrument you’re playing (such as a guitar or a bass).
When it comes to the software-side-of-things, you’re going to need a DAW (digital audio workstation) a drum plugin and a guitar amp modeling plugin. Some DAWs have built-in drum and guitar amp modeling plugins that are decent. Explore with them before jumping in to buying.
